The IAED has been a victim of a PHISHING scam. As of December 28th many members have received an email from a free account that appeared to be from our President, Josh Wallace. The email claimed that one of our members was stranded and in need of financial assistance. This is FALSE. To be clear, the IAED database, nor our financials, have NOT been compromised. This person simply stole publicly available information and then created a fake email address pretending to be Josh. Emails from the IAED will always come from firstname.lastname@example.org and will never ask you to send funds to an individual, only to the IAED website or our GoFundMe Site, or using checks made out to the IAED. WE WILL NEVER ASK FOR WIRE TRANSFERS, WESTERN UNION, etc. On occasion the IAED may have committee members contact you directly, but they will never ask you for funds they will direct you to secure payment options. The IAED will be working closely with the proper authorities on this, but as this person is likely based in the Phillipines it may be very difficult to prosecute. We encourage you to save emails, but not to engage this person at all. Thank you all for your support. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you all at the Convention in February.
The International Association of Equine Dentistry (IAED) is a group of Equine Dental Technicians and Veterinarians working together to improve equine dentistry all over the world. We use scientific based evidence and peer reviewed equine dentistry techniques to maintain an IAED Certification Standard. This standard is the foundation for our independent and blind Certification Examinations, which include both written and practical exams. IAED Certified Members have proven their skills to be of the highest caliber, and are required to maintain their Certification by attending continuing education lectures and workshops.
The IAED hosts its Annual Convention and Trade Show every February with industry leaders and vendors from around the world. IAED Workshops and Certifications are held throughout the year, and are available upon request. Please contact us for more information.
We believe that it takes a dedicated team of professionals, each doing their part, to provide the best care for a horse. We support the horse owner's right to choose who works on their horses teeth, without overreaching monopolistic government restrictions. Currently many laws in the United States do not give owners that choice, and we are working together with other agencies to see that the horse owner's rights are defended. We appreciate your support!
